dc.description.abstract | The thesis focuses on 3D printing methods used for constructing models representing three main aspects of bone tissue:
Macroscopic: Represents the bone as a macroscopic organ and explores methods for creating a model through 3D printing with maximum accuracy.
Microscopic: Presents the bone at the tissue level as a collection of polymers that can be shaped into a model through 3D printing. The model can be stained with standard histological protocols and has reliable radiological properties as a tissue-equivalent material representing bone tissue.
Radiological: Represents the bone as a radiopaque object that exhibits a similar distribution of atomic density to that of bone tissue.
The mentioned aspects were recreated through four studies:
1. Development of a methodology for generating, manufacturing, validating, and quality-controlling 3D-printed models reflecting the spatial properties of the bone as an organ with high accuracy and precision.
2. Generation, manufacturing, and clinical application of patient-specific personalized models for preoperative planning of complex orthopaedic surgeries in the pelvic area, along with investigating their clinical efficacy.
3. Creation of bioink for extrusion-based 3D printing of matrices that recreate the biological, histological, and radiological properties of bone tissue.
4. Creation of a physically anthropomorphic imaging phantom through VbV methodology for 3D printing and analysis of its radiological authenticity. | en_US |
| BG |
