This PhD thesis aims to reveal the dynamics in the formation of aggressive behavior in school environment and to examine its correlation with the psychological profile of 18-year young people. Featuring the act of aggression at school, two main types of aggression - proactive and reactive, emerged. The various aggressive repertoire favoring mixed (physical, verbal) aggression and projections of behavioral pattern in 68.2% of the surveyed individuals, indicates that external aggression most effectively performs the self-assertion function for a young man. The surveyed contingent of 18-year olds come predominantly with a psychological experience gained within an incomplete family (51.8%). The aggressive behavior is an established strategy for self-assertion and control over events and situations. The recorded violent acts carried out in school environment demonstrate the inability of the aggressive young men to master alternative reading of various social signals. It shows active aggressive response (at 79.0 percent) with limited use of verbal aggression, the physical aggression being prevalent (1: 3). Aggressive reaction results not from the event itself, but from the way it is perceived and the situation interpreted. 18-year-aggressive students are guided by a quick emotional reading and simplified understanding of the feelings and intentions of others, with no ability to look at the details or interpret alternate versions of behavior. The psychological experience gained in childhood and teenage years builds deficit in understanding ‘adult’ / ‘equal’ roles and retains characteristics of earlier stages of psychosocial development: irritability, anger, hostility, distrust, suspicion and egocentricity. Aggressive behavior propensity is based on a valuation weakness of the current parameters of a situation and contain the 18-year-old’s ‘right’ to be dominant, to react with no restraint in respect to reality based on simple evidence of success.en_US
